Fixing Fire Hazard in Gulf Shores, Alabama: Insulation

Local home inspectors often refer us to bring attics and crawl spaces back to code before closings.

One of our most recent calls, in Gulf Shores, Alabama was about a fire hazard around the chimney flue in the attic. Insulation had been blown right up against the flue and no barrier had been installed to keep insulation away. We removed all of the insulation within 6 inches and then installed a mental barrier to keep further insulation out.

The job took less than an hour and it cost the homeowner less than $300. And that included the materials we used. These homeowners can rest easy this winter knowing that this fire hazard has been taken care of.
