Installing New Fiberglass Insulation in Mobile Alabama Home

This Friday we installed new fiberglass insulation at a home on Todd Acre Lane in Mobile Alabama. The homeowner was suffering from $700 monthly electric bills and discovered that he only had 2 to 3 inches of old insulation in his attic. The attic was also full of debris left there by the previous owners. 

Because the insulation itself was not contaminated, we removed all of the debris but did not have to remove the existing insulation; saving the homeowner money. Once all the debris was removed we installed an additional 10 inches of fiberglass over the existing insulation. We also installed Duravents. 

This homeowners attic is now up to code and energy efficient.

Fixing Fire Hazard in Gulf Shores, Alabama: Insulation

Local home inspectors often refer us to bring attics and crawl spaces back to code before closings.

One of our most recent calls, in Gulf Shores, Alabama was about a fire hazard around the chimney flue in the attic. Insulation had been blown right up against the flue and no barrier had been installed to keep insulation away. We removed all of the insulation within 6 inches and then installed a mental barrier to keep further insulation out.

The job took less than an hour and it cost the homeowner less than $300. And that included the materials we used. These homeowners can rest easy this winter knowing that this fire hazard has been taken care of.
